Minecraft is the only genre here where the publisher does not police you at all. Every ban comes from the server you joined, applied by a plugin its community chose, so the same client can be invisible on one network and kicked in two swings on another. Choosing a client therefore means choosing against a specific server, not against Mojang.
The useful grouping is by intent. Utility clients bundle automation and quality-of-life modules that many servers tolerate. PvP clients add combat modules that competitive networks ban on sight. Ghost clients give up raw capability in exchange for surviving a screen-share check.
Minecraft covers 1 game and 27 builds in the catalog — 27 script or executors. Sort by downloads to see what people actually use, or filter by type to narrow it to trainers, scripts or spoofers.

Version and loader matter more here than anywhere else: a client built for one game version will not launch on another, and a Fabric mod will not load under Forge. Most reports of a client being broken turn out to be a mismatch.
Not on Java servers — there is no publisher-side anti-cheat. Bans come from individual servers, so one network banning you does not affect another.
Staff on competitive networks ask a suspected player to share their screen and inspect running processes and recent files. Ghost clients and cleaners exist to survive exactly that.
It depends entirely on the server. Some anarchy servers allow it openly; competitive networks ban it. Read the rules rather than assuming.
